It offers 4 inputs but it only uses two of them at the same time.. let's name them A, B, C and D
you connect a trackball into A and C and a spinner into B and D, so if you first use the spinner D the you cannot use the tackball C.

: Hears the deal. I realize that. However, this is what I have: a serial trackball mouse, a homemade spinner and two optical rotary joys. With this setup I would need four serial ports if everything had a serial connection. The optipac offers four inputs into two serial connections. That's why I posted my question.
