This is just what the doctor ordered. Just think about it, with 72 inputs, a control panel could be built for any computer game that I could think of... say, playing the latest version of Quake/Unreal/etc.
If I ever find room to put a MAME cabinet in my house - or in the one room that I am allowed to "decorate" :) - I am going to put it on the network with a PC monitor. I am willing to lose the "arcade monitor" look to play PC games on this beast as well (at NI resolutions above 800x600).
Now, if I just had room for 2 cabinets I could go one with the WG monitor and one with a PC monitor.
: The KE24 is great. But for the purist who wants to use *direct* inputs exclusively, 24 probably isn't enough. (But I've never had problems with my 2x22 matrix, though.)
: I'm curious to know how many inputs some of your projects need. 72 sounds like a hell of a lot. I can't think of a control panel large enough to house that many microswitches!
: I would love to hear about some of your plans for this Encoding Beast.
: Ray, do you have an estimated cost? The KE24 costs approximately $4.16 per direct input. At that rate, you could charge, oh, about $300. ;)
