: the thing in the pic is the analog optical sensors? and you attach the joystick to the top of it?

: Does the real sinistar stick move smoothly in all directions with that rubber X spring setup?

No it doesn't. The farther from the center you get the harder it is to push.

:I'm wondering how it compares to a cheap PC analog joystick, where its easy to move along the x & y axes because of the springs. I thought the Saitek stick was nice because instead of 2 springs along the axes, it had one vertical spring which felt smooth in all directions.

: : As for sinistar... It looks like an ordinaly Wico Ball-Top joystick... except, that the underside has optical sensors instead of switches. The return to center mechanism is a
: : rubber " X " with a hole in the center for the shaft... and each leg hooks to the outer post of the joystick.

: : The combination of the Short stick (for better leverage), and the extra resistence creates the better control. (fighting 4 rubber-legs instead of 1 or 2 springs found in most analouge controllers)
