- I was planning on getting the KE-24, but I really wanted to have all direct inputs so I wouldn't have to worry about ghosting or masking etc.. I know you are using a 2x22 matrix and that is ok, but I'm also going to make a 4 player panel some day and it would be nice to have all direct inputs for that too. That's kinda why I was thinking about getting the 72 input encoder. True I only need 27 now, but I'll need about 50 or so when I make the 4 player panel in the future. Plus it's always nice to know that you have extra inputs if you need them. That's just me though...

Game on!! Brian

: The KE24 is great. But for the purist who wants to use *direct* inputs exclusively, 24 probably isn't enough. (But I've never had problems with my 2x22 matrix, though.)

: I'm curious to know how many inputs some of your projects need. 72 sounds like a hell of a lot. I can't think of a control panel large enough to house that many microswitches!

: I would love to hear about some of your plans for this Encoding Beast.

: Ray, do you have an estimated cost? The KE24 costs approximately $4.16 per direct input. At that rate, you could charge, oh, about $300. ;)

: Joe
