I was wondering if anyone could recommend a specific red knobbed 4-way stick with a long enough shaft to do what you described. As is, the shaft on the ms pacman replacement 4-way would not be long enough to allow for proper movement if removed and separately run through even a routed 3/4" wood panel.

: There is a piece that holds the stick part of the joystick in place, all you do is remove that, and then you hold the base under the wood and insert the stick through the hole and replace the piece. All you need is a 1 & 1/8" hole.

: : Anyone know of a good wico style round knobbed joystick, preferably microswitch, with a long enough shaft to mount comfortably through a 3/4" cp with little routing? I'm looking for something with the look and feel of the pacman controller, but unfortunately I don't see how to mount the happs ms pacman replacement controller without cutting a large hole in my cp and dropping the whole thing in through the top, something I'd like to avoid given that my cp is made of finished hardwood.
