No Live card has an internal amp, so yes you should get one. I would recommend getting a sub-woofer/amplifier with front and rear i/o, this makes hookup easy. Also make sure you select a 4-speaker preset from your Live's mixer/control panel. The Live can be configured for 2 or 4 speaker sound as well as surround sound, but you have to do it manually in the applet, i.e. It cannot simply detect you want to use all four speakers. Hope this helps.
: I just put in the rear speakers on my SB Live! I can hardly hear what is coming out of them though. Is there any individual control for just the rear speakers? The speakers are also unamplified. Should I hook up an amplifier to them and fix my problems? Thanks.
