The gamepad and the keyboard controller both work similarly. pushing the button closes a circuit. if both controllers use the same voltage (probably +5) then at a minimum you would need to be sure to keep the voltages straight. otherwise you would have a permanently "on" condition.
you could easily put in some quad pole doublethrow switches to select one or the other. (an a-b switch, to send your stick output to either the gamepad or the keyboard controller. wire the stick to the middle, and a controller to either side).
