: As a side note, have you been keeping up with the progress of Windows XP? Word is that Beta 2 is compatible with about 95% of DOS games and 90% of Windows 9x games, and that they're going to be improving compatibility even after it ships in September. I'm really looking forward to installing it--once the first service pack is out, of course; hopefully it'll finally bring universal Windows and DOS compatibility, with stability that's sorely lacking in Win9x.

That's its new "compatibility mode" It can jump back versions on the fly, to earlier win9x stuff, and DOS as well. I have beta tested it and it's ok, but it operates best as a full install as opposed to an upgrade. Hope this is fixed befoere released.

The New IE 6 takes its cue from the XP interface, which borrows even more from its MAC counterpart. If XP has, which I haven't tested, NT's boot manager, or some derivative of it, I can finally build my multi-OS machine. But first, I think XP will be fully installed on the 700 mhz PC I will be building for the Living room for the TV in there. Its going to serve as a sort of WebTV device (without the WebTV limitations) and DVD and mutimedia station.

Party on dude!
