Using a TV is limited in resolution, but a TV with S-video will work OK for many standard-res arcade games (after all, you played nintendo on a TV, didn't you)! Also, TVs do not look as authentic for arcade games.

Using an Arcade Monitor is more expensinsive, but looks just like a real arcade. As a matter of fact, Wells Gardner makes the U3100 model, which is an Arcade Monitor that will accept standard SVGA signals (comes pre-wired for it). These monitors look like the real arcade.

My advice, see if you can try them out. See what you like and do not like. Then, buy whatever you like and whatever is in your price range.

: I've read some posts recently about people connecting arcade monitors to their computer graphics cards. What's the difference between an actual arcade monitor (like a Wells Gardner) and a TV? If they are essentially the same, someone could save some bucks and buy a cheap TV instead. Just curious.
