It's not necissary to open it in order to use it with a PC, directpad (link below) has instructions on how to plug it into a parallel port, and drivers to use it as a joystick with force feedback. You might have to cut the wire or open it to solder the wires to the parallel port converter, unless you can find a plug you could use (multitap would work).
