Just use the controllers that have the L and R buttons repeated as digital buttons on the front of the pad. 3rd party brands.

: yes you can...i've already triggered those buttons using a copper wire...i believe it's the top right copper wire for the button on the left. i haven't tried the right one yet. but yes, it can be hacked...just a matter of trial and error...but boy, i'd hate to have to replace another DC controller port.
