My MAME cab is also the center of my home theater in the basement. I have DSS/DVD/VCR w/ surround sound all being piped to/from it. All the wiring comes from the den (directly above) where my main system is.

That was one of the reasons I went with a 27" TV. I didn't really need this big of a monitor for games (although it IS really cool), but mostly for the home theater side of the project.
Even though it may sound sacrilegious to the purist... we spend as much time watching movies on the cabinet as we do playing games.

I'm not sure if there is an arcade style monitor capable of handling home theater, but if there is I'm sure it would cost 2-3x as much as a TV.
