Problem with PSX on LPT in Mame..need help!!!!!!

Hi,

i use mame on an arcade cabinet and arcade monitor.
My Problem is, that the first time i run mame (the cfg is ok,psxlpt1 choosen) ,i get the message: joystick not found.
The second time i run it everything is ok.
It`s deadly for PC2Jamma, because i can`t start mame 2 times in the cabinet.
Can anybody help me please?
I run mame only in dos.......
