Drilling from both sides is okay, but it doenst always line up the holes perfectly.

My dad (the woodshop master) told me the best/simplest way to do is is to place a piece of scrap 2x4 under where you are drilling. As long as they are pressed tightly together, there will be minimal or no splinters when you get down to the 2x4.

And besides... who cares if there are a few splinters on the underside of your CP anyway? Nobody is going to see that... My CPs are fully enclosed boxes because they need to be wider than my cabinet, so nobody sees any of the inside.


ANyway, I like to think wood working is an artform, and half of the artistry is improvising to cover up your mistakes. :)
