OK, add these two lines to config.sys:

device=c:\windows\himem.sys
device=c:\windows\emm386.exe noems

These will institute the Upper memory manager, which you will need.

In autoexec.bat add:

LH c:\windows\smartdrv.exe a- c+

try running your software after rebooting with those. As an option, place the number 1024 or 2048 after the c+, if you have memory problems.

Let me know how it works out.

: well, since I dont think I'm running an upper memory manager - just a plain jane install of win95 with bootgui=0, I guess I'll try it the second way.

: As far as memory, I've got 64megs installed and the only thing in my autoexec.bat and config.sys are commands for using a sound blaster 16 in dos and the driver for the cd-rom drive to get it to work in dos.
:
: suggestions ?
