Neotec monitor questions

I'm looking into doing a MAME cabinet, and found a cabinet for sale locally for that comes with a 2-year old 27" Neotec monitor, all for $300. I had really only heard of WG monitors before, and was considering getting an ArcadePC from Hanaho, but this would obviously be much cheaper. I did a search on Neotec in the archives and did find some info, but didn't quite get all of my questions answered.

The main thing I want to know is if I will be able to get the monitor output to look just like it does in the arcades. It sounds like Neotec is higher resolution than normal arcade monitors and WGs, and my understanding is that this actually makes the output look somewhat different than regular arcade monitors.

Another question is how hard will it be to get this thing up and running for a total newbie. The guy says it has a 9-pin connector and you can plug the PC output into it directly, but will I have to jump through a bunch of hoops to get it to work correctly at different resolutions and all? (Moreso than with a WG, for instance.) I'm willing to do what it takes, but just wonder how hard it will be for me to figure out what it takes.

Anyone have any comments on Neotec vs. Wells-Gardner? Just wondering. When I do the cabinet, I want to do it right, so I'm willing to wait if needs be.

Thanks for any replies. I know I can ask some of these questions to the guy selling it, but thought I'd try to get some more neutral opinions before I look into it any deeper.

Ben
