One way to figure it out is to use a volt/ohm meter and see what is connected to what. You can pick one up at radio shack for about?? $10 or so.


: So i have cut up a nes joy pad and in the plug there are 7 wires now in the cord there are only 5 wires.
: when i tried messing around with it hooked up to my k/encoder to see what was what every button acted as though it was the same button. now if i solder my own wires to each set of contacts i am afraid that some of them are linked together. So i sure i am not the first to do this. i am planning on cutti'n up a sega and snes controller. also have a comm 64 and atari 600 and 2600 i could play with. i might also try a 78 or 5 sometin whatever the number is.
