You could do this. Hanaho uses a propreitry encoder for the joystick and button interface. It is a good one, though.

Here is another way to go. You may want to order an "ArcadePC Panel" from Hanaho, which is a panel that attaches to their cabinets. It has a hotrod like control (joysticks and buttons) and uses the same encoder technlogy.

: I have a hotrod se and for my cabinet I was going to take this apart and use thier parts for my controls. But I also use the second keyboard input for the 4-way joy stick or maybe an ipac for 4 player support

: Any thoughts or suggestions?
