Yup! I am currently hacking a NES pad that I bought from funcoland for 2 bucks! My MAME control panel uses a DB-25 connector. I just wire up to two console controllers into the db-25 according to the keymap. Then in the emulator I configure what keys are what. I am planning to have SNES, NES, and Genesis with a tutorial on each. Don't know when though!
