In Reply to: Hi Saint! 2 questions regarding BYOAC.. posted by NThero on 17, 2001 at 1:50 AM:

: I noticed that there is a "post message" link near the top of the board that goes to a seperate html page and another one at the bottom of the board. Does it make any difference which I use?

Either one. The separate page was so people didn't have to wait for the page to load before posting.

: Are there still plans to eventually have the "examples" page list the projects along with the interface method, controls, and whatever else is notable about the project? The "submit projects" page has check boxes for these things and a description box but none of them show up on the "examples" page.

Possibly, though probably not. The data gathered with a submitted project will instead be available on a search page. A beta version of it is online.

: Recently the message board has started loading faster than it used to. I think Saint said it was due to some server compression technique. Couldn't this be used with the examples page to offset the extra data in the document? Or would it not work if the page had to be generated by CGI?

Actually, the entire web site is being crunched by the webserver, not by anything I'm doing in the html/code. I.E. anything that comes down your browser from here is crunched, if it's off the arcadecontrols.com server. There's also nsai.net and arcadecontrols.org that are not compressed.

: Thanks :)
