Thanks for the info. I supposed cutting out a few teeth would be an easy way to tell me if the transparency isn't transparent enough. However if that IS the problem, cutting out ALL the teeth is just not feasible, as I'm looking at about 450 teeth. Thanks though.

: here is how to find out what the problem is:

: cut out the transparent parts of a couple teeth. if the problem is not enough transparncy, then it will move, and you just have to cut out all the teeth. after looking at my wheel, it seems like the black toner isn't really very opaque on transparency media. i'm thinking if that's the case a fairly easy fix would be to use black paint and paint over the black parts of the teeth.
