: Formica is awesome. It is great for cleaning (for when you spill your beer on it). Just make sure if you go formica make sure you have a router. A router will make your life easy when it comes to cutting it. You can just cut a piece larger than your control panel and then use the router to make perfect edges. I used formica and it makes a real nice finish. Just like a counter top. Check you Jim's Arcade Joystick on this site for an example. Oh yeah one more tip... go to the hardware store and try to find a broken piece. I found a cracked piece and I got the hardware store to knock off a big junk. I got a $60 piece of cabinet formica for like 12 bucks.
