Another good place to get wire is communication cable. You can get one cable with like 10 22awg conductors in it. This way you only have to buy a foot or two of wire. Two feet of wire instantly gives you 18ft. of 22awg wire. A 3 foot length should be way more than enough. It is definately cheaper than radio shack... check out your local hardware store. I bought mine at Lowes... 9 conductor 22 awg solid... and it was like 4 bucks... much cheaper than radio shack
