The extra tabs are probably different voltages of the transformer, used for various applications. The one you will be interested in is the one that has the (approximately) same voltage coming out as going in. Just use a Multimeter to check AC voltage (be careful not to touch anything!) going in, and find the one coming out that has a similar voltage. Since an isolation transformer is supposed to be the same number of turns of coil on both sides, it should have the same voltage. The others will probably measure lower, so they won't be used (for the monitor, anyway).

: This one has a bunch of tabs, here's a picture. the monitor is hooked up to 9 and 10 but there are other wires hooked up to the other tabs for the safety shut off etc. (sorry about the poor pic - I had to use a cheap webcam)

: : Doug,

: : Do you have a picture of it? It should be two sets of coils with a tab on either end (for a total of 4 tabs). You just connect the input wires to one end of the coil and the outputs (to the monitor) to the other end. BUT, make sure that you are you've got the right set of tabs with the current passing through. To test it just pick up a cheap continuity tester (basically just a AA battery, a light bulb and some wires) and touch the leads to the tabs. If you have a matching set of tabs, the light bulb should come on and you're OK.
: : If this doesn't make sense to you, please let me know.
