They also sell wire lables (alphanumeric stickers) that I used to keep things straight.

: I went with 22AWG from Radio Shack. Make sure that you get "solid" and not "stranded" wire, as it's much easier to work with. They do sell a 3-pack of this wire (I think they're 50ft each?) in red, green, and black.
