Correct, most bios have that option. They way mine works, button wise, is exactly how the button on an atx case works. You press it, it turns the computer on. You hold it for 5 seconds, it shuts it down. Just like a regular case would. Noramally I just shutdown windows and it powers it off, but in case of a lock up, I can hold it down.

: Check your BIOS settings. On many ATX boards you can specify if your power button performs as a suspend button or a power on/off button.

: : : : Is it an ATX Power supply. Where the power switch plugs into the motherboard. If so, this is the way I run mine. I just wired a happ button to the motherboard Power Jumper. All the button does on ATX power supplies, is shorts the jumper and causes it to power.

: : : couldn't you just put a jumper on the pins? (maybe that isn't what you need, but wouldn't it work for Eric?)

: : Well on my computer the power button acts like a suspend/resume button when just pressed. If I hold it down (like a jumper would) it shuts off the computer in about 7 seconds. I think your idea would work to start the computer booting but the it would probably shut off again in 5-10 seconds. Another idea is some motherboards have a bios setting where pressing any key on the keyboard will turn the computer on.
