With respect to the RAM, 128 should be sufficient for just about everything, and for the most part it's not a DOS problem, since MAME and such use a DMPI handler which does it's own memory management.
: I have been combing through all the posts, and I am wondering how many people are using old vs. new dos? Is one better/faster than the other? I know 6.22 has a max partition size of 2GB and uses FAT, so that's a downside but if it's much faster than DOS 7 it could be worth the hassle.
: Also, I need to buy a new ram chip and was wondering if 256MB is overkill for DOS Mame and ArcadeOS, and if DOS 6.22 will even recognize that much ram. Thanks guys!
