I teach physics at a small college in california. I enjoy restoring old cabinets as a hobby.

Some physics project ideas:
Building a monitor mounting that allows both horizontal and vertical orientation. Include force diagrams and stress analysis on components.

What is the power consumption of machine?

Take apart the power supply and discussion induction, rectification and transformers.

The monitor as an electron gun. Trace the path of electrons. How does the coil steer electrons out of the gun?

Build a set of wheels into your cabinet that allows the center of mass to be pivoted over the wheels for easy transport, include appropriate force diagrams.

Detecting "fake" coins using an induction based sensor.

What is the maximum angle of the plexiglass relative to the screen to avoid TIR effects?

and MANY MANY MORE!

have fun!
