I'm fairly sure that monitors have the air evacuated from the tube

The electrons travel better through a vacuum. The "whoosh" of air was probably the picture tube filling with air.

• Yup, the air pressure is lower in there so it balanced the air pressure and destroyed the gases that kept it at that pressure, just my thinkin nt Dudah 4/04/2001 (0)
