Depending on the machine's BIOS... I don't have the links handy, but a search on the net should find them. You basically get a new image for the boot up screen, have it available on disk or some such, boot off the disk and run the program that flashes the bios with the new logo.

CAVEAT: Never done it myself, and if it hoses out obviously your computer is out of commision...
