Most 25" monitors are recent (at least built in the early 90's and up). Most don't need cap kits (unless your picture is not syncing correctly...it won't fix brun in or color blooming). I've installed a cap kit on a 19" marble madness monitor and it was actually pretty easy. The hard part (as you guessed) was discharging the monitor before taking off the board. Just plain scary if you ask me.

: Hey Guys.

: I recently bought a cabinet with a 25" arcade monitor inside. Now it is in working order, and does work. The thing I want to know is all the sights on the internet about arcade monitor safety. Am I right in assuming that that revers to installing a cap kit? I know for a fact that either way a monitor is a potential death inducing device, but I just would like to know the scoop.

: Thanks
