Hey All,
I have pretty much decided that I am going with a new CP for the Butler 2001. This one will be designed to be used for the Dreamcast and Mame. I am gonna hack 2 Mad Catz Dreampads. The first and 3rd Happ Super 4/8 ways along with the 7 buttons in that shitty 2 rows of 3 buttons layout will be wired to both the Dreamcast and my KE72. The button layout in the middle of the control panel is the layout I use for 90% of the games I play, based off of my own version of the Stargate / Defender / Robotron layout I have been using for all my projects (5 in all) the Joystick on the far right, well, its basically there for symetry I guess, maybe player 2 Crazy Climber or Virtual On. There is room above the middle buttons to mount a 3" trackball with the familiar 5" base plate. I am thinking about getting a dedicated Vertical cabinet in the basement also, if I do that, I will attach my fultra spinner to that control panel. The 7th button just in case anyone is wondering is the DC start button, I am pretty sure most of you knew that already but I figured I would share anyway. Using the current layout I will test all of this wiring stuff hopefully in the next day or so, I went to Wal-Mart to buy the Mad Catz Dreampad but they were of course out of them. Someone will have them in town I would imagine. I have someone lined up for the soldering job, even though I could most likely do it myself, Matthew Waterman's web page for hacking up the Mad Catz Dreampad is just about the best I have seen bar none.

Hope you guys take a look and let me know what you think.

there is a web page with VERY good instructions for hacking up this exact DC gamepad. I will keep you informed and if you have any ideas please feel free to share.

Rodney
