Enter key quits working-Need Help

Hello all-
I'm running Mame 32V37b13. When I start a game and tab so I can set some keys, the enter key no longer works. This happend with b11 so I installed b13. The enter key worked for a while and now it stopped again. I've deleted the mame.cfg file and it doesn't help. Any ideas?
