I have heard a lot of people say they used the 1 1/8" hole for their joystick as well as their buttons.

: hi,
: i think i'm going to build my controller this weekend. i have 2 super joysticks and 8 buttons from happ. i plan on wiring player 1 with 4 buttons to a joystick hack, and player 2 with the other 4 buttons to a keyboard hack. each of the 4 buttons in a 2x2 square.

: i have a pcb from a CD player with 10 micro switches. i plan on cutting the traces on the board and using the switches in place for maintenance functions.

: it's all going into an old pc case that's been gutted. i just need to find a 1.125 inch hole saw for the buttons. happ's web site says the stick needs a 1.25 inch hole, but after looking at it i think a 1 inch hole would work in a metal cabinet.

: i plan on soldering station wire to the switches and the joystick, and also to the keyboard controller. then i will twist the wires together and screw them to a piece of plywood. keeping the cost to a minimum is essential to my mariage.

: i have plans for a spinner (mouse hack) to go between the two sticks.

: right now i'm only using mame, and mostly for early and mid 80's games. gauntlet, major havoc, and joust are current favorites.

: suggestions?
