I notice the same thing on mine, Celeron 500 128MB ram. I am running Win98SE with bootgui=0 in msdos.sys to boot to the prompt. emm386 doesn't seem to work under win98, all I am using is the cwsdpmi program. Everything is MUCH faster if I shell to DOS via windows, but booting to the prompt is slow. If sound is enable, some games are not even playable. Not even Joust.
