Perfect 360 Owners that is using it with MAME

Before I buy 360 joysticks, is there anyone here use it for thier MAME? If so, how did you connect the wires to lets say a keyboard Hack for the Up/DOwn/Left/Right. The keyboard wiring is 8 leads and the 360 direction leads are only 4. Can this be done? Share us your info if its done. Those clicking really becoming to be annoying.
