You get great quality & a Warranty if Im not mistaken...Warranty...ooh...Also maby its just me but it looks like the Stick its are not mass produced on such a large scale. Having mass production done on an item increases quality because someone who does only a few tasks will likely learn to do them very well.
I dont actually own either one of these sticks (Built My Own & Am Building More) but the Hotrod seems much more professional. The configurability of the hotrod isnt as big of an issue as most people claim, and the $60 price difference is a minor difference compared to the quality you get.
Unless you run something that absolutely cant be configured (like with mame it will cause you no problems) you should get the hotrod. Keep in mind if you decide to build your own we will be here to help you all the way & you can probably do it a bit cheeper (not alot) if you do it yourself. Also the hotrod looks idiot proof, which Is my kinda hardware :)
