I'm thinking more & more about building 2 separate single player control panels. The 28 inputs per Ipac would give me lots to play with.
However, as I know nothing about electronics, I have a couple Questions.
1) If I was to do this, I was thinking of building a main box that the 2 controllers would plug into. This box would contain an over/under coinbox (simply 'cause I think it's cool), as well as the encoders - 2 ipac's, and maybe an opti-pac down the line. I would like to stick to a ps2 interface from this box, as I still use a few dos emu's. Any suggestions/comments? (positive or negative)
2) The length of the cables from this main box to the controllers, I figure, would have to be about 3 feet for comfort sake. Could this be done? or would there be too much signal degredation or latency problems? (If I'm using the wrong terms, sorry - hopefully you know what I mean)
So basically, I guess I'm wondering how long the wires could safely be from the Ipac/Opti-pac to the actual controllers.
Thanks to all for your input,
