I've seen S-Video switchboxes at Best Buy and similar stores. They take four inputs and cost about $20-$30. Is this what you meant by "ABC"?
In my experience switchboxes don't degrade the signal a noticeable amount. Mainly you'll have more cabling so make sure it's high quality.
P.S. What kind of scan converter do you have? Any complaints?
