I have a Viper v330 with TV output and the 2 main things I don't like about it are you can't position the picture and it downconverts the output from 60 to 30 frames per second. The display is pretty sharp however (only when using s-video). I would say this would be an acceptible alternative, but the frame downconversion just makes the experience seem unauthentic. I'm sure some of the dedicated tv units work better, but the decent ones start at $200 and for that much you are well on your way to a 19".
