I think you can turn off clones...then make folders in your roms folder with the names of the clone roms...then they will show in the game list.
e.g. if your roms are in c:\mame\roms then make a folder c:\mame\roms\popeyebl and the Popeye bootleg will show in the list.
This used to work...not sure if it still will in the newer versions of AOS
