Any opinions on the TVator or other external scan convertors?

I want to add TV-out to my PC which uses video cards
that don't have it built-in.

I am looking at an external box like the TVator or TView. They claim they can handle up to 1024x768 and downsample it to fit on the TV. But one reviewer said devices "like this" have problems recreating fluid motion (they're better for Powerpoint, not games) but he didn't mention any particular model.

Then I read one review that said TVator was good for games but it that's basically all it said.

I guess I could just buy a monitor but I like the idea of making a game-console-like device out of my PC--just plug into the TV and wall outlet and go!
