It was fairly simple as my ATI is supported chipset (mach64) so it was just a case of memory timings issue..

as for the Maxtrox that uses the generic vesa 640x480 driver, and that doesn't work on all cards, heck I don't know a card it does work on (anyone??)

But you should be able to play them games doing the following..

mame kof94 -depth 8 -monitor arcade or setting depth to 8 and resolution to auto in the mame.cfg
