Regarding banners - it doesn't make any money or other tangible
difference to the FAQ or myself - I don't receive
cash or any credit for clicks.
It's mostly a bit of putting my money, or in this
case, web site where my mouth is. I've always
thought that someday I'd try to do some good when I
could - donate to charity, volunteer time, etc...
It occured to me that now was better than someday,
so... :)
Anyway, not to get on a soap box (too late?) but
that banner is between anyone and their conscience... :)
These organizations in that banner are all charitable
or similar types, that in some way benefit from the
clicks. One feeds the hungry via corporate advertising
(you click, you see their ad, they donate money) - one
is the red cross, etc...
There - more than you probably wanted to know :)
