If you are using a cabinet I would think about switching to dos and a frontend loader unless your using the computer for other things besides the cabinet. The advantages in speed are worth it plus it can be configured to boot straight to the frontend (which is cool). The biggest problem ppl usually have is with PCI sound cards not working correctly (or at all) in dos mame. There are plenty of ppl here that can help you configure your system if you get stuck.

: : : I'm using both Mame32 and Arcados. I use Arcadeos in my cabinet and Mame32 on my PC and agree with you on the user friendlyness of Mame32 (it seams to always work) but I use Arcadeos in my cabinet to get all to power out of my computer in the cab. Also you can use Arcadeos without a full keyboard or a mouse and it's easy to set the computer up to go into Arcadeos when you turn it on. But dos can be tricky, annoing, and some times evil, getting your sound, video, ect. to work right can be tricky (my cab is not behaving correctly right now :( ). So if you playing on your PC and happy with your performance stick with Mame32.

: : : : I have tried both MAME32 and DOS MAME using various frontends and MAME32 always gives me a good screen resolution and proper sound support as well as always recognizing my Sidewinder flight stick. I have tried many settings using ArcadeOS and other frontends but cannot get the same consistency and quality I get with MAME32. Am I missing something? It seems that everybody uses DOS MAME and not MAME32. BTW I am running a K6 500 Mhz and 196 MB with Win 98.
