It's real easy to make shiny steel bolts black. Go to your local Gun shop or even Kmart or WalMart too! Get a "gun Blue kit". In the kit you will have a liquid that when applied to steel will turn it blackish/ blue, like the barrel of a gun.
Looks great and helps keep the rust off them too :-)

: : because Happs said they didn't have some of them in stock and would have to back order them. Well Bob had them in stock. He also charges a little less for each (those littles DO add up). I did forget to order some of the 2" black carriage bolts when I placed my order though. I emailed him a few days later to ask how much more for shipping to include them. He said there would have been no extra shipping charge but he couldn't. He had already shipped my buttons out earlier that morning. He even emailed me an idea how to create the black ones using shiny ones from a local hardware store. He also shipped my stuff out priority mail. It is nice getting stuff in a couple days.

: : To sum up my experience, would I order from Happs again?
: : Yes, but only if Bob Roberts doesn't have the stuff I need. If you have never considered giving Bob a try, please reconsider. Saving some money and getting your parts even sooner ain't bad at all. :o)
