: : I use the great Arcadeos in plain Dos however I have a couple of problems

: : 1. My soundcard volume is very low in Dos however it's ok when I use Windows.

What sound card you are using??

If its a SoundBlaster card, you'll need to get the file 95dosapp.exe from there FTP site, as this includes a MIXERSET utility to set the volume to correct volumes (not sure if it works on the SBLive or other SoundBlaster PCI cards, doubtful).

: : 2. I can't acces my CD rom drive when I am in Dos again it's ok in Windows.

Make a DOS boot disk if Windows 98 and then do the following:

Copy the following file from the floppy disk (also located under c:\windows\command\ebd on some machines).

oakcdrom.sys to c:\

i.e copy a:\oakcdrom.sys c:\

add this line to the config.sys in c:\

device=oakcdrom.sys /D:mscd001

add this line to the autoexec.bat in c:\ preferably after the first line which should be @echo off

C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\MSCDEX.EXE /D:mscd001

I hope this helps.
