I use a Hercules GeForce2MX. I set the card's output device to NTSC monitor. So now it boots with DOS being displayed on the TV. I only use a TV on that computer.

The thing to remember is they can only do 640x480 because that is all NTSC supports. And even at that, they shrink your 640x480 desktop down to fit in the viewable area of your TV screen (approx 600x440.) Any higher video modes a card says it supports thru TV-out either shrink them down or use pan&scan where you only see a portion of the screen at a time.

So if a DOS (or windows) program trys to use a different unsupported mode (eg.320x240) you will just get a black screen.

: I'd like to get a card that uses the GeForce2 chip.

: It needs to do TV-out all the time, so that I don't need to buy a real monitor. This means during boot-up, DOS mode, Windows, everything...

: I've done some searching and haven't come up with anything conclusive. Some cards make you boot into Windows and change some software setting--that's not what I need.

: I've read on this forum that the ATI Rage Fury does this, but it's not a GeForce 2 card.

: Does anyone know for sure?

: Thanks!
