on this board about 2 years ago (a week would go past and there would be no new posts, heh). Anyway, some of the arcade control pioneers came close to all out war over this particular topic and still there was no definitive answer.

My take on the whole diode issue is that it cannot possibly make a difference. I do not qualify my opinion as it has already been done a hundred times befoer (by people far smarter than me).

Worst case is that he buys the bag of diodes and they don't help at all. You can buy more diodes than you will ever use for what? the price of one push-button?

It may be a huge waste of time, but at least it is cheap :-)
