Mounting a 3" Trackball in a HotrodSE

I have a Hotrod SE, and a Happ controls trackball, it seems INSANELY hard to cut the right hole for the trackball, anyone have any advice? Also, the trackbal barely fits in the center, and even then I am going to need some kindof front covering for it!
